Recurrent ovarian cyst(Need help)

Hello

I am 32 years old with only one kid and I am from India.
I had a ovarian cyst laproscopy on 20th dec 2006, it was 12 cm in size. I had my 1st baby born on march 12 2008 and I also had a simple cyst of 10 cm removed by C-section. I had the surgery at  Kaiser permanente, santa clara,CA. They left a sponge during my surgery and I had a laprotomy again on 5th april 2008 to remove that. After that I was having severe pain due to gall stone and I had an emergency surgery on april 23rd 2008(laproscopy) to remove my gall bladder.

After 1 year, I mean on april 2009, I found out to have frequent urination and UTI.
My u/s showed a 10 cm * 8cm cyst in my left ovary again.
I was on Lupron 3.75 mg shots till june;however, the cyst size is same. Now I am taking Loestrin 24 Fe.
I don't have any symptoms like abdominal pain, nausia or freq. urination now a days, I am feeling pretty normal. I had a CA125 test on april which was 20.
Do I need to worry about surgery soon?
I  need rest as I had several surgeries last year.
Is anyone  having problem like me?
Do I really need to worry about cancer?
Please reply.

Good to know about you.
I have a very bad luck going on.

I sued kaiser and won the case too and got cash from them, however, that is nothing in comparison to what I suffered at that time.
can you please send me an invitation, we can talk more.

Hello haidah

As I mentioned earlier, I had a laproscopy for ovarian cyst (12 cm size) in dec 2006.  After that I became pregnant in July 2008 and a simple cyst grew along with my pregnancy.I had a C-section on March 12th 2008 and they removed the  cyst(size 10 cm) when my baby was born during my C-section.  Then I had an U/S in aug 2008, I didn't have any cyst. However, on april 2009 the cyst grew to size of 10 cm.
I had an U/S on july 2009, the cyst size was the same(10 cm).I am dying everyday now a days, scared, scared and scared...

I had CA125 test 3 times and in July 2009, the result came out to be 29. But I am very very worried about cancer.

What symptoms are you having now a days? Please let me know.
I have frequent urination and buring pain during urination sometimes, but I never had any symptoms of ovarian cyst.

I have an appt. with Onco/Gyn  on 18th aug, he will decide my fate.

Hi There,
I'm sorry to hear that. Now i am having cyst too. The size of it is about 12-14cm. The doctor that told me the result said now the cyst is similar to the size of watermelon and pushes all other organs to aside. But have not meet any specialist yet. Do you think my cyst is serious too? Since the past few years, i have always having abdominal pain but i keep ignore as i though it may relate to my medical history problem. So now i kinda lost. Need others suggestion to make the right decision.
Rgds,
Ida

Wow, that's hell of a story.

Your ca-125 sounds normal to me. I think you got recurrent cysts due to laparoscopy (from what docs say). Some cysts do recur. I am supposed to go for an U/S after 4 more months for a cyst in my other ovary. I have no idea about the medicines you are taking. But I don't think you have to worry about a surgery soon.

Cancer happens to anyone at any time. But ovarian cancer is very rare and if you are really worried call up your health care provider right away. It is no good to be tensed all along especially when you are being treated.

I am an Indian too and I used to live in CA and was treated at KP. If I were you, I would have sued them for leaving a sponge inside.

Cancer is always a concern even though the risk is low.  If it is cancer you want it treated as early as possible.  Also, you need to be concerned as to what a cyst that size is doing to your internal organs.  It is pressing on areas and can cause issues.  In addition there is a risk of rupture or twisting which can lead to infection.  You should really talk with your doctor about this decision.
