Complex Hyoechoic focus right ovary

hi all i had surgery to remove endo on 11/23/2010 then i went to the er on 11/28 and they did a cat scan and found a solid cyst 1.4cm on the right adnexal area...i didn't know until 02/10/11 that I even had a cyst so my primary doc ordered an ultrasound on 3/8/2011 and it came back  at 2.1cm with small free fluid in the pelvis, it looks like the right ovary is also bigger than the left ovary.  I have bad pains and my cycles were lasting 6-7 days after surgey and were really heavy and painful and then my Feb cycle last two days and wasn't really heavy.  I wen to see one gyn and she said it's too smal and i shouldnt have pain.  I was like are you kidding me I ahve a lot of pain that radiates all the way to my fee and with my history of endo (stage 3) and history of having a complex cyst on the same ovary 2 years ago she wouldn't see me until 4/27/2011 so i scheduled an appointment with a new gyn for next week.   This thing went from 1.4cm on 11/28/2010 to 2.1cm on 3/8/2011 should I be worried.  My mom had ovarian cancer at age 31 and had everythign removed.  I am scared.  the report states it is a complex hypoechoic focus on right ovary with fre small fluid

Hi Shelly,

Thank you so much for that comment.  You don't know how upset i was after I left the first gyn's office.  I hate how these doctors make you feel like you are imagining everything.  It's the worse feeling in the world.  I had pain all weekend off and on.  I read that once the cyst is 1 inch long then doctors take it seriously, mine is 2.1 so it's almost at an inch.  I am just frustrated and tired.  It seems like every year it's the same thing a complex cyst or endo.  I have gained 30 lbs since 2008 and I feel horrible.  No matter how much i work out only a few pounds come off.  So the complex hypoechoic focus  means I do have a complex cyst right?

Thanks
Trish

I am so sorry to hear your story!  I think you are right on track with taking this seriously!  Thankfully, you know the road of ovca through your mom's experience.  I don't think you have received proper treatment for your condition!

Smaller cysts can and do cause pain!!!!  It is a shame that doctors dismiss them so often and don't take them seriously.  It sounds lke you did the right thing by finidng a gyn/onc who will see you and listen to your history!!

It is very possible that the growth of your cyst is benign.  But, given your family history, I can understand your concern.  It is better to be overcautious than to be dismissive and miss an early warning sign!  I sure hope all turns out benign!  Please keep us updated on how you are doing.  You will be in my thoughts and prayers!!
