SEVERAL CYST AND TUMORS? ......

I have Several tumors off of my right ovary and a complex cyst within each ovary.  I usually see every one posting about one cyst or one tumor,  has any one ever had several?  Does this increase the risk for cancer if there are several?  I am 40 and have never had a cyst or a tumor before.  Any comments would be great.....

Hi!  I had all the tests, Cat Scan, Trans Vag ultrasounds, CA 125, because of what the doctors called a dermoid mass.  When they went in there, they found other, numerous fibroids, and something else called a teratoma.

So when they took the dermoid, they took all of it... yesterday, finally saw the path report, all benign.

I don't think multiple cysts means anything related to the chances of having cancer.

Good luck, please keep us posted!

I can tell you this, and it certainly isn't scientific fact but, all 5 of my cyst surgeries had multiple cysts, like clusters almost.  Several of the ones that burst were multiples.  Oh, as far as the bursting thing, I am/was very physically active and Drs all told me that could greatly contribute to cysts bursting that would probably have gone away on their own if I wasn't so "rambunctious".  LOL
The difference this time was that my ovaries each had one big cyst and they just kept getting bigger and bigger.  So at least in my case all the benigns were multiples and the cancerous ones weren't.  Good luck with this.  It is worrisome, but try to get rest, have a little fun and don't worry until you have to.

Without the biopsy there is no way to know for sure. I have not seen anything to suggest that multiple cysts are more likely than single ones to be cancer. I hope your surgery goes well and you get a clean bill of health. Marie

Hi Lisa,
I have bilateral complex ovarian cysts. Mine have been being watched monthly with trans vag ultrasounds. If they don't go away, there is a point in which they need to come out and be biopsied. Are you having yours monitored? Do you have children? What type of tests and or other symptoms are you experiencing?
