So tired of the pain

I had a total hysterectomy in March 09. My gyn found fibroids and cysts at that time. I felt a bit better after I got thru the healing process. Then in  or around Aug/Sept I started to have pain again....in the same area as if I never had surgery. I went to my gyn, she gave me a pelvic exam and said everything seemed okay and referred me to a surgeon. He set me up for exploratory surgery laprascopy, and in doing found adhesions. This was done in Feb 2010. I am still in constant pain and when I sought help from my surgeon, he referred me to my PCP. They are sending me to a gastro doctor in 2 weeks. I honestly don't feel it is gastro related as it is all in my lower pelvic region. It alsos hurts in my lower back too. I am at my wits end with the pain as it interfers with my daily life,,my personal life, work, and everything. I hurt all the time and the only thing to give me relief is to take Percocet which I take so I can sleep and get away from the pain. Does anyone think this sounds like Ovarian Remnant syndrome? I have never heard of it, and came across these postings and it sounds alot like what I am feeling.. I am so distraught over this constant pain that I am depressed all the time also. I am on antidepressants, and just tired of it all. Any help is appreciated...

You might want to have a transvaginal ultrasound to put your mind at ease as to ovarian remnants.  Adhesions can be quite painful.  There are two ways of dealing with it that you might find helpful.  A massage therapist can help and if you look at the health pages (top right) you will see a posting for dealing with adhesions using ball rolling.  I hope you can find some relief.

Hi,
Adhesions are painfull and cause strange pain that changes. It is difficult to treat as more surgery to remove scar adhesions can itself create more adhesions. However you can look towards natural therapies to help with the internal scar tissue.
First of all scar tissue is made up of collagen fibers, a tissue that is like hollow straws. Fluid moves between these fibers. So keeping well hydrated is very important. Drink plenty of water. If you don't like the taste of town water get a filter.
Movement and exercise helps to prevent scar formation.
Calendula tea may be useful, my friend who is a herblaist reccommended it to me, I must admit I have not tried it yet.
There are probably several Flower Essences that can be aquired over the net that deal with adhesions, scar tissue and hydration. Australian Bush Flower Essences make some called, Slender Rice Flower - scar tissue; She Oak - hydration. If you look them up Ian White is the Founder. If you are going to try this inexpensive natural remedy get the stock bottles so you can then make up your own dosage bottles and save you heaps. A friend post multiple bowel surgeries used it and it offered him some relief. flower essences are vibrational medicine and like homeopathy, so won't hurt or interfere with any other treatments you are on. Good luck.
