I am 26 years old and in January I was found to have a complex cyst on my right ovary. It is large, but I am unsure of the size. They suggested a follow up ultrasound in 6-12 weeks. I had been having some low back aches on that side that I assumed were just muscle aches.
Shortly after my dx, the week of my period I became very nauseous. I couldn't eat anything for over a week and lost 5 lbs. I saw my PCP and they put me on nexium for 4 weeks, I was able to maintain my weight but still struggled with occasional bouts of nausea.
The back pain now occurs on both sides. It is lower back right above my butt cheek and only on one side at a time but happens on both. The severe nausea has returned this past 7 days. Alternating with crampiness. I'm forcing myself to eat, but I feel really yucky.
I am ovely exhausted all of the time and cranky because I don't feel well. I'm a mother, a nursing student, an employee... and I hate not feeling like ME! I called my gyn to see if my symptoms could be related to my cyst and she said it is possible but the plan of action remains the same. So I have 3.5 weeks to continue feeling like crap... and not having a good appetite, until my follow up ultrasound... then who knows how long before the next step.
Breast cancer and partial to full hysterectomy runs in my maternal family. I have zero female family members over the age of 40 that have their full reproductive package. I lost my aunt and my great grandmother to breast cancer.
I'm terrified of living this way, and horrified at the thought of not being able to properly parent my two young children. While I wait... does anyone have any suggestions on how to help with the nausea!? If it isn't due to the cyst I have ZERO idea what is causing it (neither does my PCP).
