You must had those tiny holes in your stomach
You should be out within hours of surgery. I went into the ER expecting to find out I had appendicitis, ended up I had a 10x11 cm dermoid cyst in my right ovary. I went into surgery a few hours later and was out before lunch time the next day. They just wanted to make sure I had a bowel movement and could get around a decent enough distance.
After the surgery, you should have a post-op appointment to make sure things are healing well and discuss what was done and such. Take your pain meds and the stool softener as prescribed as pain meds can cause constipation on their own but are necessary to help with matters.
Things hurt, but they're not as bad as, say, a broken heel or leg. You still shouldn't expect to want to go much of anywhere for a month as you'll be able to get around but not THAT well.
