There should be a photo this time.

Let's see if this photo keeps. Sorry about the last post. Is this the type of "swelling" you had? It gets worse at night and after I eat

I am looking forward to the bloating and pain being gone...I know it will take time. One month doesn't sound so bad...I am half was there...lol. I would love to lose some weight. It seems like I have been stuck where I am at for so long.

Barb I hope you get some answers soon. For me the waiting and not knowing are very stressful. Keep us posted ...God bless...Lynn

Barb,
It is a long story and you are free to go read my journal about it all, but basically, I had all these symptoms for over a year, I had two colonoscopies, neither found anything and they say they wouldn't have found it with an upper endoscopy.  I started having really, really bad stomach pains (like labor pains) but I thought I had a stomach virus and kept getting it, finally, one night I went to the ER and those pains were my appendix, chronic appendicitis, so they operated. When they operated, my appendix didn't look as bad as my white blood cells indicated so they looked around and saw my intestine was scarred and twisted.  They removed a foot and resectioned it.  After that, I did feel better for awhile (well, as best you can after major surgeries) but I wasn't eating either.  It has been about 5 months and I am right back to where I was, bloated, tired, constipated.  So...not sure this info has helped you any but wanted you to know that gastro and gyno problems can both show the same symptoms.  I also have an enlarged uterus (like a 3 month pregnancy) and that causes alot of my symptoms too.  Let us know what the doctor says!  Take care, Colleen

Bloating should disappear by the one month post surgery mark.  Since my surgery in June I have lost 17 pounds!

ALL,

Thanks for the replies. It helps to be reassured that this isn't normal.  TrudieC.. I will insist on testing today at the doc.  IVFrogs.. Did you have a colonoscopy to determine that there was an issue w/ your intestine? I have an upper endoscopy a year ago and the GI Doc said my stomach was fine. But I don't think they can view intestines from an upper endoscopy.
Sobermommy, I'm sure it'll take time for the swelling/bloating to go down. I've read other posts where people lost significant weight after surgery.. probably takes some time. Best of luck!

That is definitely not normal when you aren't pregnant.  I too, had the same issues, and have been treated by a gastro doctor and still have the same symptoms. I did have an operation to remove a foot of my intestine but I still have all the same symptoms and it is frustrating.  My gyno says that my uterus is the size of a 3 month pregnancy and that might be causing all my problems. I don't know anymore. I hope that you get some answers. Be persistant.

Photo worked.  Yes it is.  Yours is certainly on the large side.  Good luck today and insist they get down to the bottom of it and tell them you need them to rule out ovarian cancer.  Let us know how it goes.
