Hi...I just wanted to say that I can relate to the fear. Not knowing is so difficult. I hope things work out for you both. Sandymac gave great advice...try not to worry too much. I am trying to apply that advice too. It does seem that cysts are pretty common and until you know for sure what type...etc...they may not be as scary as it seems at first. I have recently found out that I have a hemmorhagic ovarial cyst and am waiting for a follow up US before I know much else...so believe me when I tell you...I can relate. I wish I had some great advice for the financial issue. All I know is the local social service agencies or check through the local hospital. Some towns have funds available. Hope it helps...keep us posted. God bless....Lynn
I'm sorry , but I didn't address the financial aspects of this. Hopefully someone will post that can direct you to a good source for that. Is there a well woman's center near you or county facility that can direct you? And you can always ask your physician what resources are available..
Take care and keep us posted.
Sandy
Hi,
I know you are overwhelmed just now, but calm down. You've come to the right place. Well, actually I'm going to direct you to the Ovarian Cyst forum. There are a lot of ladies there that have or have had cysts. To answer some of your questions though and I have some myself. But first let's calm your fears a little... Cysts are very very common in women who have not gone through menopause. They are 95 % benign .. It is my understanding that adnexal simply means the location of the cysts. It has nothing to do with the type of cysts.. And there are a LOT of different kinds of cysts. If you go to the top right of this page, you'll see "Health Pages".. Go there and you will find all sorts of information on cysts.
Does she have other symptoms? What they usually like to do is simply monitor this for a few months to determine if they grow or not. Most of the time they will simply vanish all by themselves. What the next course for you is to have her have a TVUS.. or a Transvaginal ultrasound.. That will determine what sort of cyst she may have. Again, they will probably just monitor them for 2-4 months. If they are large, they may decide to do a procedure which is usually on outpatient basis. But first things first.. She will need a TVUS.. and go from there. She should see a Gynecologist who will be a ble to explain everything and order the US for her.. But really try not to worry. These are so common. . And come see us on the Ovarian Cyst forum.
Take care,
Sandy.
