Last monday I went to the emergency room for severe abdominal pain which the ER dr said was burst ovarian cysts. Since that time I have lower back pain (lower back pain for over 6 months intermittently), intermittent stabbing pains in my lower abdomen, thigh pains, bloating, indigestion, gas, frequent urination, feelings of pain in my ovaries every time I need to pee, uncomfortable fullness every time I try to eat, I feel so stuffed with any little meal and transient nausea. Ok so tonight I took my temperature again and it is now 100 degrees. The discharge instructions said to get prompt medical attention if my temp is 99.5 or higher. So tonight I called the nurse hotline through my insurance and they told me to call my doctor. With the crappy insurance I have, I have only ever seen a "physician assistant" and can only get through to a PA, never a real doctor when I call after or during regular hours. Tonight when I called the doctor, I was sent to a PA (I will call her Amy) who said I might have a fever due to a "virus" and I should stay at home and not go back to the ER. I told her I started having a brown discharge today and is that normal. She told me thats normal and its from my uterus. She didnt seem to know what she was talking about, which is a bit scary. I don't want to go back to ER and receive substandard care again, but I am not sure what I should do. Any suggestions?
Good luck to you!
