Heart Palps and terrible pains Trip to ER

I had my surgery on August 29th to remove tumor from right ovary. They also took out most of the right ovary, leaving the cortex. It was non cancerous.
It was done laproscopicaly and it was very hard to get around the first week. The 2nd week, I had a UTI from the straight cath in the hospital and that made me a little sick, but I started getting better. I am home from work. I am way to tired and cannot actually do all the things I used to do yet. I am trying to rest and heal. But something odd happened to me this weekend.
Saturday. I went to the grocery store and I was in the checkout and I got heart palps that started getting faster and fastera and a wave of heat took over my body and I almost passed out. I had to sit down. I was so dizzy and feeling horrible that I had to regain composure before I drove home. I had to stay at my sisters house because this happened to me again a couple hours later and I was afraid to be alone. Sunday morning, I got up and the same thing happened. First off, I have a lot of pain. Pain in the right side, pain in my back. My last period started on Monday last week and I know it was very bad.
I had to go to this afternoon because I was not getting better. They thought that I may have an abcess and have to have it drained, but my bloodwork was normal, no temp and the cat scan came back with nothing.
Does anyone know why I feel so dizzy, have so much pain and feel like I am going to pass out when I am standing for a short while? Or I keep getting these weird feelings like hot flashes.
If anyone has had a similiar experience please let me know. I was cleared at the ER, I am going to be calling my dr tomorrow, but it would help me if I at least knew what was going on.
Thanks so much.

Hello, I had my surgery on August 19th I was in the hospital for 6 days, I had the same thing. My heart rate got up to 150. I was told that the pain will cause heart rate to increase. Maybe this is what is going on with you. Call your surgeon.

Hi,
I'm sorry you had such a scare, but we're not Drs..and I , for one, would have no idea what was causing this.. could be one of a hundred different things but it should be investigated for sure.
How large was the cyst/tumor?? Everyone recovers at a different rate, but usually one feels pretty good after a few days so I'm wondering if that infection wasn't already taking hold.
You def. need to see a Dr. for these symptoms.. let us know..

There are many things that can cause the heart to beat faster than normal or beat irregularly.  The best course of action is to have your doctor check it out.  He should be doing an ultrasound, chest x-ray, 24-hour ECG, bloodwork.  However, if he finds nothing wrong with your heart then you may actually be fine.....as I've been told many times.  I've had heart palpitations since my early 20's.  I've had many tests and nothing was ever found to be a problem.  The best we can conclude is that it is triggered mentally.  I guess you could say stress, but it's not necessarily obvious stress.  It could be surpressed emotions and concerns.  Oddly enough, I've learned how to slow down my heart rate when this occurs.  Similar to yoga, you need to completely relax (for me that's lying down), then breath slow and deep, concentrating on slowing your heart rate.  The difficulty is the concentration because of course you're freaking out because your heart is beating so fast.  When its done I feel completely exhausted.... like I've just run a marathon.

Let us know what your doc says...hopefully everything is fine.

Take care!
