That explains the confusing ultrasound at least. It's not the first time we've seen complex cysts and endo cysts confused by doctors. I don't think pre-surgery tests are quite able to fully distinguish one from the other. I am very happy it all turned out benign. It is strange how there was no endometriosis.
The woman's body and its disorders are a true mystery and it's sad that most of us are going to have some kind of problem in our lifetimes that require some kind of surgical correction. Thankfully the majority of the problems are benign, but we still have to go through a big scare anyway.
Just to let you know - cysts removed by keyhole surgery - endometriod cysts, but strangely, no sign of endometriosis. Biopsy results have come back as benign. Thanks all.
Many thanks for your kind comments. The report is from the radiologist, not the ultrasound tech. The consultant this morning told me he is 99.9% sure that all will be benign. My wife is booked in 2 weeks time to have them removed via laporascopy.
That one is confusing and almost conflicting in some aspects.
Maybe they are complex ovarian cysts? Some cysts are hard to identify. Is that just a report from the ultrsound tech or from a radiologist? Rarely does anyone get a good interpretation on the same day as the test because they are often sent out to experts to be read.
It seems there are 3 complex cysts and they are not sure of what kind. The no blood flow is a good sign. Sometimes cysts will resolve themselves by waiting a cycle or two but with this many and being a little suspicious surgery sounds like a good idea to me. Because of the size they can likely do via laporascopy which will require a 2 week recovery. Please take a look at the health pages (top right) and there is more information on types of cysts and symptoms there that you might find useful. Do encourage her to not panic. More than 95% of all cysts are benign but they can't be sure until they remove and biopsy.
