I was never tested for ca125 and i had a cyst/ovary/tube removed few days ago. I had my first us only a month ago followed by another, two weeks later and was in surgery a week after that. I did not have a large cyst but my doc, a gyn/onc preferred it removed. I have little idea whats the fuss all about until i found this forum. Now I'm glad I'm done with the 'simple' laproscopic procedure.
No, not 50% chance at all. I would think you are still in the 10% or under range!! Mine was endometrioma and CA 125 was 23, which, for the test they did, was "slightly elevated" (over 20). I still thought that was pretty good, although it didn't really help my fears. I had 2 anxiety attacks that almost caused me to call 911 because it felt like heart trouble. It's impossible not to worry, but it is certainly not useful in any way. It won't change the outcome. Easy for me to say, right? :-) The CT scan is useful, but only a biopsy will tell for sure.
This is typical for a complex cyst. Even the doctor is confused as to what you have. It may not be endometrioma at all...just a complex cyst.
The low CA-125 is encouraging news and you should take it as such. Why even use the word cancer at this point. It will work you up to a state of anxiety like where I was. My pre-surgery high blood pressure/anxiety levels were near dangerous...all induced by my own fears.
They are sure scheduling a lot of tests...why not just schedule surgery and get this cyst out already. (This is just me thinking out loud). I suppose it's to determine if a TAH is even necessary. At this point, it just seems that removal of the cyst/ovary/tube could be enough. Do you have a history of endo? If not, the uterus can remain intact. Again, this is just my random thoughts at work. Your doctor is the pro, not any of us.
