bleeding, dark in colour with small clots - any advice??

Hi. I am 24 years old, 3 years ago I was diagnosed as having an ovarian cyst which seemed to have occured when I became pregnant. I had an abortion and the cyst seemed to clear up after that. I developed really bad acne after this which has never gone away. The dermatologist recommended I take Roaccutane which I have been taking for the past 2 weeks. I have also been taking the pill (yasmin) for the past 6 weeks without a break. For the past 2 weeks I have been bleeding but not very heavily, it is very dark in colour and has small clots in it. As i carried on taking the pill I wasnt expecting a period and I took a pregnancy test which came back negative 2 weeks ago. The doctor will not give me a smear test as I am under 25. Can you give me any help / advice / ideas about what, if anything, is wrong. Thanks xx

A smear test can test for various things, polycystic ovaries, cancer, HPV etc, all women should get one but at the moment they wont give them to women under 25 because of lack of funding which is riduculous! If you are over 25 i'd call your doctor and they will book you in to see a nurse for a smear test. It will tell you if there are any abnormalities so it is very important. Smear tests can tell your doctor alot about your health (womens health anyway) so if you have never had one then I would get yourself booked in. Its quick and simple and is a must in my opinion.
