complex ovarian cyst

Hi,
I'm new to this community as I've just found out I have a 4.5cm complex ovarian cyst. I've never had one before and am really concerned about having one. My doctor told me she would like to wait and see what it looks like in 6 weeks. My concern is that it's so painful and I don't know if I can wait. I have constant pain on my right side lower abdomen and it feels like me whole leg is tingling. Maybe it's pushing on a nerve...Do they usually hurt this much? I don't know how much it's supposed to hurt before the doctors can do something about it. I'd really like it removed asap. I'm thinking about getting a second opinion. Also, I was wondering is it really possible for it to completely go away on its own if it's complex and is filled with liquid and solid tissue?

The doctor gave me pain medicine hydrocodone and ultram to take alternating.  If you keep up on it you will not have the breakthrough pain.  Not saying it really helps at all just kinda takes edge off.  I know my pain gets worse if i do alot that day or move around alot.  I try not to do too much but i am a mother of a two and five year old.  I know what you are talking about that it feels every day.  And yet the doctors do not think that is a good enough reason to hurry up and get it treated.  I have just as much answers as you but i think it is so helpful to talk to someone.  It feels like talking to myself.  Good luck with vacation would not hurt to ask the doctor about it. Keep me posted and i will keep you posted.

Thanks for your support! I know it's so frustrating! I wish the doctor had even given me a date for surgery instead of wait and see. I also feel like it hurts more by evening time just like you said. Did your doctor give you anything for the pain? My dr. gave me hydrocodone in case it ruptures. I'm trying to not take any because it makes me loopy and also so I have some in case it ruptures. But sometimes it hurts so bad I end up taking a half a pill. I can still feel the pain but it's not as bad. I keep thinking it's twisting and getting ready to rupture. I feel like it hurts more everyday. I'm going away on vacation and am a little nervous about the plane ride..I hope the change in pressure doesn't do anything. But anyway, it's nice to read about other people's experiences with this :)

I was also diagnosed with a 7.5 complex cyst.  I am in the hurry up and wait game.  I understand the frustration of waiting and i totally understand the pain I am mostly couch ridden by the beginning of the evening.  I have back pain and stabbing pain in pelvic and leg.  My family care doctor was hurry up and see a gyno and it has been three weeks since they diagnosed me and i had the problem for three weeks before that.  I still will not even get a surgery until the 25th.  I so understand that feeling of wanting to hurry up and get it out.  There is a lot of nice people on here who understand what you are going through.
