You can get pregnant with a dermoid, I did however there is a greater possibility of the cyst twisting your ovary or rupturing....your better off removing it via laparoscopy before you get pregnant, before it gets bigger and possibly causing damage to your ovary...99 percent are benign however it's something that just doesn't belong there...and my advice is to speak to several surgeons I found many have different techniques or skills..,,find someone who has enough skill to save your ovary...my doctor performed a lap via robotics which enabled him to save 100% of my ovary and mine was 8cm...good luck and god bless deb

What has your gyno reckomeded? How long have you had the cyst for and are you still in pain? Any other details, what type of cyst do you have, any blood results?

If the cyst is getting smaller, there is a good chance it will resolve itself completely and you will hopefully not have future problems with other cysts. I dont think unnessesary surgery would be wise.
If the cyst was getting bigger or if it has solids in it, surgery would probably be adviced.

Your ovaries make cysts every month as part of your cycle, you cant really prevent them. They normally dont cause problems.

Fertility is normally not a problem with cysts.
