numbness & pain left thigh?

I'm two weeks out of surgery from having a cyst removed from my ovary. My doctor had to remove my ovary as well. I noticed two days ago I didn't have a feeling above my front thigh moving towards my pelvic area. It's the same side the ovary was removed. I had robotics surgery. I have a little pain as well when I walk. I can just rub my hand across an area over my thigh not feel anything. How can I get that feeling back or that pain go away? Other than that the surgery went very well. The cyst was benign.

Definitely follow up with the doctor (you need to do so anyway after a surgical procedure).

I hunted around in other message boards and found a discussion on this subject.  Here is what one person said:

"Take heart - my issue did go away.

I was told it was related to where they position - and ground - the cautery instrument that zaps blood vessels during surgery.

It took maybe a year for it to completely dissapear, but it did."

I hope that offers you some kind of explanation and encouragement.

You should follow up with your doctor to ensure there isn't any nerve damage.
