If neglected, though, they can grow large enough to encase the ovary, and then it cannot release eggs. Not always, but it has happened, and women have lost ovaries as a result. Much depends on the type of cyst since they do not all have the same qualities.
Once you know a cyst is present, its type and its size, it is important to keep an eye on it through follow up exams with a gynecologist. When they get too large or if they have suspicious qualities (something that could lead to cancer), removal is recommended, sometimes urgently. Under the most normal circumstances, cysts go away on their own.
no - I had a 6cm cyst during my entire pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby boy in January.
Had they known it was there in advance they would have removed it, but it was there and it did not cause any trouble at all.
In general having cysts will not prevent you from having kids. Hope that helps.
