some what large cyst and the doctor has made it a waiting game?

I first wrote about my cyst almost 3 months ago when I first posted the cyst i had was 5.5 cm X 7.3 cm not as big as the first cyst i had but really close in a months time the cyst had grown but not a significant amount, 5.6 cm X 7.5 cm... the doctor then told me to continue on the BC pill he prescribed 3 months post op and said he would ultrasound me again in 6 months i don't know but to me that seems like a long time to wait trust me i don't want to have surgery 7 months post op to an emergency laporotomy that i had to have in may to remove a twisted cyst which again was not that much smaller then the one stated above i believe it was somewhere along the size of 8 X 7 X 5 cm. To my knowledge doctors prefer to have them removed when they are over 5 cm which clearly my cys is so my question is should i go to my doctor and request to do a earlier ultrasound/ ask if he feels it should be removed i don't want to have surgery but at the same time i am only 20 years old and would like to have a family and the fact that this cyst is on the other ovary is also concerning to me. I am sorry to keep rambling on here but i am starting to get a little concerned about waiting another 5 months (1 month since i was told this fyi lol ) to find out that i have to have my entire ovary removed with my left one already scarred from the previous surgery. Thanks again

HI. i really does hope it sheds the problem with scheduling an ultrasound is the doctor has to do it arrange it for me and is not done in clinic so i have to get him to arrange it and give the the specific forms before i can go and have another ultrasound done and the paper the doctor gave me is not until may of 2011. It is an unfortunit burden that women have to deal with this is for sure! Thanks for you reply :)

Hello, I have had large cysts for years, and I had surgery to have one removed, If i were in your position I wouldn't worry if it's not causing you extreme extreme pain I would schedule and ultra sound for like 3 weeks from now, with a doctor you trust and go from there. If the cyst can shed with your period it's better then having the invasive surgery that will cause scar tissue. Also I use the nurvaring back to back and this has helped with my cysts getting so large. I hope this is helpful pm me if you have any questions. I'm sorry you have to go through this. It *****
