surgery is scheduled!

My surgery is set for June 4th. My left overy is leaving the building. The solid mass has gone from 2.1cm to 4.5cm in two weeks. The doc says that one needs to go. I'm thinking at the pace it's going it will be bigger by surgery. My right ovary will hopefully be saved. It has 4 cysts with one that contains internal echoes with either hemorrhagic component or solid lesion. Chances are that they can clean that one up and it can be saved, but I signed for both to be removed just in case. They also think there's something attaced to my cuff or bowels.(yuk!) I can only hope there's a light at the end of this tunnel. I had an abdominal hysterectomy in 06 due to fibroid tumors, only left ovaries. Then March 08 had my gallbladder removed. So this is number three and hopefuuly the last. I dread waking up after surgery it's always the worst for me. Wish me luck the patholigists find NOTHING abnormal.

To Chloe, I'm sorry you had to go the vertical route.  I had a full hyst & ooph in April and had a huge horizontal cut, but I have to say, I DO feel a million times better!

So there's two of us out here, painlady, that have "walked in your shoes" and I am now 6 weeks (almost 7) post op, and I have already been back working for 2 weeks!

You will be here soon, pain, and I wish you the best of care!

Best of luck to you.
I had 2 c-sections and a laparoscopic surg before I just had my most recent surgery (full hysterectomy) last week.
I had alot of scarring, adhesions from prior surgery so my doctor  attempted laparoscopic surgery but it couldn't be done ( I had signed up ahead to do whatever/however necessary as you have done) so I had to have a laparotomy w/ a vertical incision (which hurts more than the horizontal but still manageable w/ some good pain meds).
I'll say a prayer you can have yours laparoscopic but even if not you will recover and you've had surgery before so you know in part what to expect!!  I feel a million times better now and it is only day 9 post surgery.

The doctor is hoping to start out with a laparscopy to establish a plan of action and then follow with the laproscopic removal. I had to sign for both to be possibly removed and that it might have to be an open procedure. All according to scare adhesions.I just had my gallbladder removed so she knows theres going to be some scare tissue where they usually start a laproscopy procedure.
