ultrasound

I get soreness after my ultrasounds for cysts on my ovary. A few weeks ago I could feel like pressure on my ovary during bowl movements. I have had mild sourness since then. Have any one experienced these symptoms? Perhaps my age had something to do with it. I am over 60.

Hi, I'm 56 and I have a cyst on my left ovary also, was doing the watchful waiting for a while 'till i went into menopause. I was a late one, didn't stop my periods till I was 55 and then I broke my darn leg. I started having the same pain you describe in Feb. and had the TV/US repeated, the cyst has gotten a little larger, so it has to come out. My CA-125 was also 7 so it's a good sign in someone postmenopausal, although it's not certain until it is out and gets biopsied.
Has your doctor done the blood work? What were the findings on the US?
I also have some intestinal problems that seem to make it feel worse at times, so the last post has some good points about the diverticulitis.
I think the general consensus is if your already in menopause, a cyst should really be removed.
Keep us posted with your progress.

I'm past 60 myself and had a cyst removed in January..It was small and my Gyn/Surgeon gave me the choice of "watching and waiting" or having the ovary out. I'm not a "watch and wait" person so I opted for removal of left ovary & tube. Now... did they also suggest a CA-125 blood test? That blood test is not too reliable in premenopausal women but for women our age, it carries a little more merit.
Also, I'm going to throw something out as well.. When I went to the Dr. for my annual checkup, I mentioned the pain (it was on the left side) I thought it was Diverticulitis since I'd had that before and the pain was in the exact same spot. Seems that is also very close to the left ovary. In any case, my dr. wanted to rule out anything Ovarian .. so we had the TVUS , the CA-125 (it was 7) supposed to be under 35.. and since I didn't want to wait I had laparoscopic surgery .. Results were benign
How many cysts were found?   What did the Dr. recommend?
.
Let us know for sure,
Sandy

So let me get this straight if I may. You are 60 and having cysts. Hmmm, how many times have you had ultrasounds? Usually when someone is menopausal and they have cysts, they are removed. Has your doctor suggested surgery? I may be wrong, but I think they usually are very careful with cysts in menopausal women. Have you had other tests? Let us know...Take Care
