Confused!!Help!!!

From 2006 to current, I've had several ultrasounds and all of my u/s reports are confusing. First u/s showed bilateral ovarian cysts. Second u/s showed endometrium thickness of 9mm with bilateral ovarian cysts, hyperplasia, polyp, or even carcinoma, cervical nabothian cyst, etc.,.....after depo shot was given, the next u/s showed 7mm fibroid inside  uterus, endometrium 3mm. Later, I could no longer tolerate depo shot after 6 months, due to huge red painful bruises that developed in my thighs and legs. The doctor the bruises were erythema? and not blood clots. Other witnesses said they were blod clots. The doctor d/c'd the depo shot and stated I was getting too much hormones. I had my period regularly for 3-4 months and then my period ceased. I became nauseated, I vomited. I took several pregnancy tests that turned out negative. I went to another doctor who ordered an u/s and the u/s showed complex bilateral ovarian cyst with septation and debris, possible hemorraghic, left ovary 3 cm, right ovary 5 cm. New doctor monitored for about 6-8 weeks.. I decided to use herbs--Beet Root capsules and next u/s showed right ovary was normal and left ovary 3.3 cm, abnormal and 1 cm cyst in the myometrium, and small cysts at each cornu? Also dysfunctional ovarian activity. Is it possible that I may have a malignancy? Also, I'm curious to know whether malignant cysts or tumors can shrink. Is it possible that the Beet Root may have half way helped? I'm still pending follow-up with the doctor. Also, I have severe asthma, and pseudotumor cerebri (intracranial hypertension) and I can't seem to conclude to surgery, because I don't feel I'm healthy enough to undergo general anesthesia. I'm confused. Can anyone give me some honest advice. I constantly pray. I keep in good spirit, because I firmly believe In God. However, I feel God led me to this forum and any good advice would be greatly and deeply appreciated.

Hey Sharon....thanks for welcoming me back and thanks for the prayer. One endometrial cyst is .5cm and the other is 1.5cm. I went to the same ultrasonographer, and both were transvaginal u/s's. Also, I'd called the dr.'s office today and they said my ca-125 was 8.4 and that it was in normal range, but the doctor still wants me to wait until December to do a repeat u/s to see if the cysts decreased or went away. Well be blessed and remain a blessing. Thanks for responding and I'll be looking forward to more responses.

Hey c00L .. welcome back !
It seems as though you and your doc have a good handle on things ... I pray your cystic structures actually did shrink ... amen
Did they say the size of the endometriomas ? Also is this the same ultrasonographer
and were they both trasvaginal ?  A friend of mine had persistent multiple endometriomas
which she had removed laparoscopically and also had a d&c to remove excessive
endometrium from the uterus ... she came out of it with her fertility still intact
It was a disease she was battling since her teenage years and eventhough the endometriomas were removed ... it still happened many times again ... I lost contact with her over the years so I don't know if she ever went forward with a complete hysterectomy ... I know the pain was excruciating in her case
Also ... the CA-125 test is unreliable in predicting OVCA ... endometriosis will cause a substantial elevation
God Bless you c00L and great to "see" you again
Love

I went to the same doctor in August '08 and he didn't seem very helpful. However, I have a new doctor now, and I went to have another ultrasound done. It showed a slightly heterogeneous myometrium,  2 endometrial cysts, persistent left complex ovarian cyst, thickened wall with internal echoes, 2.6 cm fluid in the cul-de-sac, right complex ovarian cyst 9mm (involuted?).  My new doctor ordered a ca-125 and he said he wants to make sure it is not a cancer. I, also, have to have a repeat u/s in Dec. '08 and see the doctor again in Dec. '08. Do you two have any knowledge and/or advice on this. I'm still praying. Keep me in your prayers as I keep you two in mine. Thanks and God bless you both.

hello c00L
i am not a health professional just someone who has cysts ... having unqualified myself to give my opinion .....here goes
some cystic changes in ur ovaries are normal and some are not ... has a doctor suggested polycystic ovaries?? please read the pamphlet on ovarian cysts it may help u figure out some of the things going on ... best advice is to keep getting follow up ultrasounds because once the cysts are 5 cm they generally recommend removing them due to the possibility of torsion ... they really have no way of knowing if u have cancer or cystic disease unless they remove the cyst and biopsy it ... Most docs agree that cysts that are not functional do not tend to shrink on their own .. younger women (especially those who took clomid or other ovulation stiulators) tend to get polycystic ovaries so when one cyst dissappears it appears as though the cyst "shrank" when in reality one cyst on the same ovary dissappeared and one stayed the same ... but also these buggers can hide too ... its up to the skill of the ultrasonographer ... do u have other symptoms that u associate with ur hormones ?  have a heart to heart talk with ur doc and give him ur concerns about having a laproscopy and the two fo u should come up with a treatment plan
dear father
i pray u help c00L as she is questing for answers to her health problems and give her the words to talk with her doctor and get the treatment she needs
amen
best of luck
