YAY! Good news!!

Hi Ladies, I hope you all don't mind me coming online and sharing my good news with you. I had my right ovary and a 10cm cyst removed by laparoscopy just over 2 weeks ago, and today I had the news from my doctor that it is benign! No cancer! I am just so happy I wanted to share it with everyone. I kept being reassured by various posters on here that over 95 % of ovarian cysts are benign, but it's just so good to get the actual confirmation.
This site has been brilliant for tips on coping with the waiting for news, tips on getting through surgery, how to cope afterwards in recovery, I wouldn't have got through it without you guys. I'm going to get my story together and post it in my profile so hopefully my experiences will help other ladies too.

Congrats!! My lap was last Thursday and I just got pathology results. Negative for me also. I had thickened lining and a 6 cm cyst on left ovary. Doctor did not suspect endometriosis, which made me concerned as to what it COULD be. My CA 125 was "slightly elevated", which freaked me out. But I was full of endo and ended up only retaining 1/3 of one ovary because what they could not see on the U/S was that the right ovary was covered with chocolate cysts also. I learned a lesson to not make assumptions. No one will know for sure until they go in and look around and sample. I still hurt a little, but I can tell the cyst pain is gone and have high hopes this will last me to menopause and beyond!!

Hi! Wow! Congrats! I'm so happy for you! I'm in the same situation. Mine is 3.9 inch... 9.9 cm. I might be facing surgery. I'll find out on the 23rd. It is encouraging to read your good news. I'll make note and read your profile. Thanks for posting.
