Ankle Pain

ZRM
my wife has been suffering ankle pain for the past few months. She realised that the paint was due to wrongly wearing jogging shoes when she plays tennis. Is it due to tiny tears in the ligaments or tendons. Your reply to this question is highly appreciated. Thanks

I was thinking is was a shoe thing too but it doesn't seem to go away no matter what type of shoe I wear.  Heading to the doctor!

Hello ZRM,

Welcome to our Pain Management Community, Your wife is fortunate to have your concern.

You've asked a very good question. Please understand that there are not any physicians on our forum.

It is impossible to determine if she has tiny tears in her ligaments or tendons without proper imaging. Could this be causing her pain if that were a fact? I would guess that would be affirmative. However tendon or ligament tears are not a common occurrence due to "wrong" shoes.

If her pain is bothersome or continues I would certainly consult her PCP. Only a physician can give you the correct answers. Best of luck to both of you.

Peace,
~Tuck
