Just be honest. It's the people who worry and ask these questions that raise a lot of "red flags" with doctors. I understand that some doctors are reluctant to even prescribe pain medications at all. your dose is pretty low, and it's normal to need an increase here and there. I wouldn't worry much about it. If the doctor won't help you, or you think isn't a good doctor, then find another one. easier said than done though! Good luck,
shinty
Hi There, when you go to your next appointment, don't specifically ask for more, just explain the pain you're having, or the increase in your pain and ask the doctor what they suggest. Just be honest. Its also a good idea to keep a pain diary that details what pain your having when, what aggravates it, what makes it better, those kinds of things. Good luck to you.
If you can`t talk to your P/M you need a new P/M good luck just be honest their are other P/M`s
Hi Nikkiaro.
I just finished reading your comments. So, you say you're taking 5mg
of oxycodone four times a day. One of my family takes this medication
too, 4 x/a day about 6 hours apart. She writes down the time every time
she takes a tablet. She is in chronic pain also in her back. She has discovered a homeopathic medication called Hypericum( 1M). She says
she finds it helpful as the oxycodone is wearing off and before its time
to take another oxycodone. What's great about this product is it is a homeopathic product for pain. A few times its also worked to take away
a headache. What about trying to use melatonin tablets to sleep instead
of asking for more oxycodone. You're probably aware that oxycodone is
not particularly good for your liver. She also takes MilkThistle to aid her
liver. I do too. Milk Thistle is available in pills from the health food store
Melatonin is also available at the health food store and you could now
buy it at Shopper's Drug Mart. Melatonin is something your body produces
naturally anyway. Good luck, Nikkiaro. Eve :)
