It's sad that we have to worry so much about every little thing. I take it you were having a bad migraine or you were having a Lupus flare up when you took the Percocet? I'm just guessing and asking. Are you being under medicated for your medical conditions?
I agree with the above posters, it depends on how in depth the test is. You'll have to wait to see what the results are. At least the nurse didn't flip out on you and that's good thing.
I just hate these new laws and what they're putting pain patients through.
Please keep us up to date on how everything goes. All of us here understand chronic pain all too well. We're all here to support and help each other any way we can.
Unless you're a pharmacist and study those medicines, I would think with all the stress you had going on, the last thing you need is to keep track of what kind of "codone" medication you took -- "oxy" "hydro" "whatever," and maybe you thought that's what the nurse meant. If you're on a "codeine" medication, how are you supposed to know all about the "codone" medications.
Thank u I really appreciate u r responding & help. I messed up this 1st time & afraid that's it & it's really going to be difficult to find another dr. I have lived with pain for many yrs & worried about the future. Thank u again
It all depends on the test they use. If they use a basic urine test that only test for opiates then they will test the same. However, if they use a lab for testing it will be able to tell what meds you took.
I can totally understand family issues, etc. But when going to a pain clinic those rules have to be followed. Pain docs are the most watched docs out there. So there license is on the line which means many times they will fire the patient to protect their license...
Best of luck to you
