Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. Thank you for posting your concern about the withdrawal from Tramadol. It has addictive qualities and acts much like Morphine. I think it will soon be considered an opiate.
And Kelsgor it is true that seizures can occur when mixing medications with Tramadol (Ultram). Seizures (convulsions) have occurred in some people taking Ultram. This from a trusted drug site: "You may be more likely to have a seizure while taking Ultram if you have a history of seizures or head injury, a metabolic disorder, or if you are taking certain medicines such as antidepressants, muscle relaxers, or medicine for nausea and vomiting."
My physician prescribed it for me at one point. It did not touch my pain. I do know that it has been effective for others.
Thanks for sharing,
Tuck
Also, if anyone is on Lexapro and Tramadol or Ultram........be very careful because this could cause seizures!
Hello! I work for a pain management office in my area. I am not a nurse. But, I checked with our nurse and she asked how your are trying to d-tox from it? Tramadol and Ultram are the same drugs. They also have Ultram ER which is the extended released. It is a controlled substance. A lot of PM docs use this for patients to take all day long, every day. My employer and doc tried to put me on Ultram ER and I refused to take it. Good luck and if you need any suggestions for the d-tox, let me know and I will check.
