Hello Ralph,
Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Forum. I am sorry to hear about your sciatic and accompanying groin pain. I have it also.
Sciatica, as you know is not a condition but a symptom. It's caused when your sciatic nerve is either entrapped, irritated, damaged or inflamed. There are several areas along that nerve pathway that can be the actual location of the pain. Determining why you have sciatica is key in treatment. Groin pain can accompany sciatica, depending on the condition that is causing the pain. I have SIJD and experience groin pain... a common occurrence with this condition or sciatica.
Piriformis syndrome can cause groin pain and sciatica pain. However being you are male your groin pain could be associated with a inguinal hernia or a male anatomy problem. It may not be connected with your sciatica so please consult a physician.
Sorry I cannot be more specific. It's just difficult to "guess" what may be causing your pain and how to treat it. I hope you'll keep in touch and let us know what you discover.
Take Care,
~Tuck
