Knee pain after surgery

Had meniscus surgery in July, 2016, didn't get better, so they did another meniscus surgery in March, 2017, it's been 10 weeks post op, and I was doing good until about a week ago, just woke up and had awful stabbing pains all over my knee, shooting pain, then I could hardly bend and go up and down stairs, getting worse as of today, I have been wearing an unloader brace for two weeks, one nurse suggested I go get checked for blood clot at the hospital , is that necessary, the pain is also a tight feeling
