Ive crushed T-12, L-1, fractured C-2, 3, herniated C-4, 7,L-4 T-7. Ive done three MUA ( manipulation under anethesia) procedures. Two rounds of cortizone ( lasted only two weeks).
Now after this last MRI, not screwed up enough for surgery but Dr suggested cauterizing nerves. I too am unsure! Did the Chiro circle and replaced with yoga and stretching and that has kept everything balanced. I am still researching, please post what you find..good luck!
I think it's worth the try. I've have 3 sets of medial branch blocks for diagnostic testing to see if I'm a canidate to have the nerves burned in my neck. They did not help the pain, so I am not having my nerves burned. I was told it takes up to two weeks for the nerves to die, but afterwards there would be up to a year of no pain. Good luck.
When I was first injured I did go to the chiropractor for about 4 months. The treatmetns she gave me were very helpfull but for a very short period of time. I would walk in hunched over and walk out standing tall, however within hours I was slouching again.
Pehaps you will have better luck then I did, and I hope you do. Best of luck and continued recovery
I'm going to try using a Chiropractor, we'll see how that goes!
Most of those spine proceedures work for a few short weeks at best. Look around at what others are saying and trust your intuition.
I've never heard of it before...
Thanks Molly for your input. I have complete confidence in the doctors that I am dealing with and I know that I am not the first person thay they will have done this procedutre on however, I know others who have had it done without any success.
Doctors generally know what they are talking about and the procedure that is best for you. Second opinions are always a good idea when considering things of this nature.
Please take care,
Molly
