Excuse me. I meant to say the decision must be YOURS. Sorry my fingers aren't working well today. I missed the Y. Sorry.

Hello Worried,
In my opinion you have a right to be concerned. Opana is Oxymorphone and very similar to Morphine. It may or may not produce a euphoria for you. Morphine has never effected me in that manner. A medication web-site says, "Oxymorphone may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Oxymorphone should never be given to another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction."
However you apparently have pain and your physician is aware of your past problems with Lortabs and he still prescribed it for you. I am lucky you in the respect that I have never had an issues with a narcotic so my suggestions may be far different than you would receive from some one from the Substance Abuse Form. I hate pain and therefore I would try the Opana's. Only you know the extent of the problems you had with Lortabs. Therefore only you can make the determination is the problems were one of true addiction or abuse. I do beleive that a SA member would advise you to stay clear of all narcotics.
I am sorry I can be of more assistance. I beleive the decision must be ours in the end. Good luck to you. Please let us know how you are doing. Peace, Tuck
