Pain- Pain Management

I've had a bad headache for almost a week. The pain occured in the left side of my rear head. It also affected my eye too. It was very intense. I've tried several pain reliever such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen pm. The acetaminophen pm helps alittle bit when I'm sleeping at night. I need to know what I should do? I have a medicare with hospital coverage only. Will it cover for treatment?

If you get these types of headaches frequently (more than 3 or 4 a year) it would be wise for you to mention it to your primary doc.  There a couple of different types of headaches that last more than a day or so, and different types of medications that will help to either prevent them, or 'rescue' you if the preventative doesn't work.  Meanwhile, you can also try heat or ice (whichever seems like it would be more comfortable).  Also, if you begin to have other symptoms such as nausea & vomiting, or vision changes, it may be wise to go to the emergency room. Headaches can be caused by strokes, high blood pressure, and a whole host of things that are potentially life threatening. I would expect Medicare to cover the hospital, if you are admitted. Hope you are feeling better soon.
