My pain and my son.

I have had alot of messages asking me how I was doing and people telling me they miss me so I wanted to give a update.
Since starting the new meds my pain levels are so much better. i am able to do so much more now. My kids are even happier seeing me do stuff around the house. I still have pain but not like it was. I am eating more so that helps alot.
My son has been really sick. We was eating out just me and him on Sunday and then he took a few bites of his fries and said he wasn't feeling good and asked if we could leave. I told him I would get a bag for our food and to go wait outside the door (incase he puked) so he did I was getting our food together and I looked outside and he was vomiting everywhere. I hurried up and got him home and he threw up again and layed down. Well that night I went to give him a breathing treatment and his machine wouldn't turn on. I called his dr yesterday morning and told them and said I know he can't go very long without a treatment and see if they can hurry to get him a new one. They called back and said they have them there and for me to get one and they will bill the insurance for it so we got one. He got a treatment when we got home. Last night I was getting his treatment ready and he started having trouble breathing, I hurried up and started it and he wasn't getting any better at all. He was crying and puking and couldn't breath so he started to freak out, I held his hand and held my phone in my other hand to call 911. I didn't think he would make it, my husband told him to lay down and breath so he did and finally he started to get better. I gave him 2 treatments back to back, his dr said to do that if he has having alot of trouble. After he got better and his treatment was done he told me it was the worse day of his life and he never wants that to happen again. He thanked me for saving his life I told him anytime. I am keeping a close eye on him. I am thinking he is either allergic to something new I don't know about or he ate something I don't know about. This is the first major asthma attack he has ever had. We really don't want to go thru that again.
That is my update thanks for asking for all of you that have asked how I was doing.

I will have to ask about the fries, we have always thought of that place as a "safe place". I will ask next time we are there before he eats anything. I am thinking either that or they cooked his fries with fish, a big no no for him.
Asthma can be so scary. I have dealt with it for both my kids. But this is the first time we have ever had to go thru something like that. He keeps talking about it and how bad it scared him. I am going to keep a very close eye on him.
Thanks alot

Just a thought/question - is it possible that maybe his fries had been cooked in peanut oil?  Even if this is a place that you've eaten at before without a problem, it could be maybe they have changed the type of oil they are using.

It was just a thought I had when you said he started feeling bad after taking a few bites of his fries.

Asthma attacks can be VERY frightening at any age (I also have severe asthma), but especially for children.  I hope he's feeling better now.

I'm also glad to hear that your pain is under better control.

I'm so happy you are feeling better.  I'm sorry to hear about your son.  That is very scary what happened to him and I'm glad he is alright.  I have a daugther who is allergic to many things and her half siblings are allergic to everything under the sun and have issues like your son.  It's a constant worry for them.  I even worry about my daughters allergies, although we have not run into life threatening situations yet.  I hope you never go through that again.
