thanks again
Chronic pain has a variety of definitions one of them is any pain that lasts for more than three months. The pain can become progressively worse and reoccur intermittently, outlasting the usual healing process. I am always confused by this term. If you have a reason for pain, such as spinal structure abnormalities that should cause pain ppl are still labeled with chronic pain so rather your physician will term you as having chronic pain or not is not certain.
Insurance companies will normally approve "usual and customary" procedures as directed by your physician.

Jojo,
Disc desiccation is primarily caused from normal wear and tear. Another though less common cause of disc desiccation may be from and injury or trauma to the disc. It may also be from repetitive movement causing stress or strain in the area. Only your physician may offer the actual answer. Given your young age yours may be from an injury but again only your physician can determine the cause. Usually it is more of an educated guess based on your past medical history. If that was an area of injury than that may be the cause of your problem.
However you have so many other things going on in your spinal column that it may still be due to normal wear and tear. You may just be more prone to spinal problems regardless of your age. I just don't know and I am sorry that I do not have the definite answers you seek.

ok but whay I still feel someting is down at my lower back and do you think disc desiccation result from injury because last years i hurt my self from lifting.
thanks
Hi Jojo,
Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am glad that you found us.
I am not sure what exactly what you are asking. If it is simply why did the previous disc bulge not show I can only offer an educated guess. Sometimes a disc will heal on it's own. It does sometimes shrink, by itself and that is apparently what has happened in your case. That is one of the reasons surgery is usually not advised for a bulging disc. A good surgeon often "waits" to see how it will respond to non-invasive treatment.
Disc desiccation means "atrophy" or "drying out" of the inter-vertebral disc, resulting in loss of height. Dessication is often considered the first stage of spinal degenerative changes or DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease).
All of these conditions can cause pain. I am not a physician nor any form of an expert but I would think the goal at this point would be to offer non-invasive treatments for the conditions revealed on the MRI and to treat your pain and symptoms.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. I will look forward to your progress updates.
Take Care,
Tuck
