Checking in, I have become tolerant again, going in tomorrow need support

Hi,

I have not been on here since October.  Not sure why.  I think it is because my pain has been so well treated but that is no longer the case.  I go in tomorrow for my med refill appointment.  They do them for three months so I need to make sure I get my point across.  I have been on the same meds for a year now.  They added a tiny bit to them about 6 months ago and that took care of most of the pain up until about 2 months ago.  I have been struggling badly since then to make it through the days.  My husband really wanted to come with me tomorrow to put his foot down and say "hey this is not working, this is no way for my wife to live everyday" BUT he has a meeting that he really can't get out of and I think it could come across badly if he came.  So all on my own and I am going to have to be strong and state my case.  I really only need to ask for a small up in the medication I am allready on to get me through the last few hours of the evening when I am packing lunches, putting kids to bed etc.  My busy part of the day when I am out of medication for the day and hurting the worst.
Please pray my doctor will listen to me tomorrow.
Hope you have all been well.  So sorry I have not checked in.

Hi all.  Thanks for your support.  Well she gave a little.  A very little.  Instead of uping my oxycodone by just half a pill a day like I wanted she took away my percacet and added more oxycodone (roxicodone).  So I will in the end be on about 20mg more oxy a day.  Not much at all but better than nothing.  She said from here I have no choice she will be moving me to a long acting medication.  She wants me on Opana ER.  I have NO idea what that is.  Anyone have any advice???

I'm so sorry your pain medication is no longer working.  Tolarence is awful.  I wish we didn't build a tolerance to our pain medications.  I pray your doctor will listen to you.  If they don't, maybe it's time to find a new doctor or new pain clinic.  Perhaps, try a different medication.  Good luck!

I am sorry your going thru this and wish you the best!
I hope your appointment went well and you did get some much needed relief. I know it is nerve racking having to ask for more medication but that is just something we deal with.
It doesn't get easier, I have been dealing with chronic pain for over twenty years and every time I need adjustments to my medication regmine I still get nervous!
let us know how it goes:)
