sorry for your problems Mike, you didn't mention an MRI did you have one of these?
It took years for me also to get a dx, I too had all the 'other' tests and it was finally a new doctor that ordered the MRI and discovered DDD and nerve entrapment, my pain sounds similar to yours, I had been told for years it was FM....sometimes nerve entrapment is hard to locate by methods other than an MRI.
good luck

Hello MadMike,

Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am so sorry to hear about your body wide pain. We all know how life shattering chronic pain can be.

It sounds like you have done all the right things. I suggest that you see a new set of physicians. Some times a little thinking outside the box can go a long way to determining what may be going on with you.

There are similar pain conditions to Fibromyalgia such as Complex Myofascial Pain Syndrome.

Has Lyme's Disease been ruled out? It can be very difficult to diagnosis and repeated tests may be beneficial. It is not unusual to be missed on a first or even second test.

I don't know what condition you may have but I do know that you should not stop looking for a diagnosis. It's your body and no one knows how you feel but you. Be assertive. You are your own best health care advocate. Don't take, "I don't know" for an answer. Keep searching.

It took me years to find a diagnosis primarily because I stopped looking. I was tired of hearing it was all in my head or I'd have to learn to live with it or what every other excuse they came up with not to treat me....or find a proper diagnosis. I know I am not the only one.

Something is going on in your body. You need to find a physician that is concerned enough to find the underlying cause and treat your pain in the mean time.

Best of luck to you. Please let us know how you are doing. We will look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Take Care,
~Tuck

I have had these symptoms and I have Fibro. I would get a second opinion from another Dr.
