Sending Tuckamore get well wishes.....

I just wanted to take a moment to send Tuck well wishes. She is having a bad pain spell now and not doing well. She does so much here and puts so much time in here we all appreciate her very much.
We hope your doing better very soon. We do miss you here but want you to take the time you need to get back on your feet.
I know many of you know she is also taking care of her Father also so she has a full plate and she still manages to find time to help others.
She is truly and angel here:)

Tuck I am glad you have decided to look after yourself and your own needs for awhile, you unselfishly give so much to your dad. Caregiving is difficult to do even for a healthy person..this is your bodies way of telling you to 'take care of me'
Good luck on recouping you deserve a rest.

Thank you everyone. All your prayers and well wishes were heard and my pain level began to drop yesterday. It is still higher than normal but at least it has improved. I can actually walk without my affected leg buckling. The severe stabbing knife pain is almost out of my sacroiliac joint.

If my system wasn't so fussy and I could take one of the Big Dog meds. I'm sure my pain would than be better controlled. However I have tried Morphine, Methadone and Fentanyl and have not been able to tolerate any of them. Morphine interfered dramatically with my respirations, Methadone did not touch my pain levels and I have a severe allergy to the adhesive of the Fentanyl patch. My physician will not prescribe Oxycodone for any of her patients so I am "stuck" with hydrocodone. I also tried Tramadol and that was less effective than Ibuprofen.

When I add Diazapam to the Hydrocodone it does help. But due to my father's fragile terminal condition I must be alert and ready to meet his respiratory emergencies at any hour. The Diazapam not only controls my extreme muscle spasms, it makes me sleepy or very groggy. I've tried other muscle relaxants and my too sensitive system does not tolerate them.  My wonderfully kind husband was able to step in and care for my father for 48 hours which allowed me some rest and to take the Diazapam.

This week my father will be going in the hospital for three days through the Hospice Program to allow me a respite and him a thorough medication and medical evaluation. I thought about all the things I could get done in the house while he was hospitalized but decided instead I would use the time as intended, for me to rest. I have rehired my former cleaning lady to take care of the house cleaning.

I want to thank you all for responding so well to the posts in my absence. You all do such a great job. Your care, concern and support is very evident in your responses. I am proud to be one of your Community Leaders. Bless you all. Special thanks to my fellow Wisconsinite, Mollyrae who checks on me often and sends me cyber-hugs. You are all wonderful friends.

Heartfelt Gratitude,
~Tuck~

Tuck, I pray that your pain levels go down fast.  I too, have been going through a bad pain spell this past week or two and I was wondering if it's the subzero temps in the morning making my pain unbearable.  Hang in there.  Take all the time you need to rest and recoup.

Tuck you are in my thoughts....I thank you for all the good you do for all of us, and I hope that you take the time to really take care of yourself--you really deserve it.  I know I don't post very often, but I read all the time...and I appreciate you and Sandee so much.
Thank you so much,
Love, Alison
