Hi too am a migraine sufferer for many years in addition to other chronic pain conditions of which I have no time to get into. I m using a friend's computer so I have to keep this short.
So your friend had the botox injections and it helped a bit? Interesting. I have just moved in with a friend b/c I cannot afford the expenses that come with chronic pain. I WILL be searching for a new doctor in my area that hopefully will try this on me. Then I can get to the bottom of my other medical conditions. Please pray for me that I get all the benefits I need in the new state that I moved to. I cannot work due to my illnesses and the medications I take daily. I am too afraid to even drive on these meds. Thank God for my loving friend that has taken me in. My husand left me due to as he said" a broken wife". nice huh? Hope he rots. Even told me I was broken b/c infertility did not work for us. What a jerk.
I will inquire about the botox. Thanks for listening.
ur so right abt pay being the root of most (not all) professions.........its not right no!
meanwhile someone suffers needlessly, we don't expect any one doctor to have all the answers but WHY can they not admit that and look a little harder into referring to someone that may know?
MY sister in law at age 18 had a hsyterectomy...long story I will try to shorten...she has been sick alot over the last 28 yrs..all mysterious symptoms, so all doctors and even family began to think it was mental....last year she became very short of breath and alot of pain, one thing led to another and she ended up needing most of one lung removed..they found a very very rare form of cancer(carcinoid) very slow moving thank God...now its also in her esophagus, bile ducts, and possibly liver....its taken her since the surgery to find a doctor that knew ANYTHING abt this cancer and they kept transfering her to OTHER specialties and more tests etc etc.....My point here is she did finally find a doctor in Sweden who specialized and she found him through one of these FORUMS like this one(maybe even this one?)...he told her who she needed to seek out and what she needed to find out etc....she also found a support group only a few hours away...so now really after 28 yrs of searching to find out what is wrong...she knows and is dealing with, my point never ever give up....and if you run out of options start asking alot of questions to the medical community forums they cannot diagnosis u but maybe they could suggest just who u need to see and even where!! BEST OF LUCK TO U!!
Thank you for the update. It is always good to hear how our members are doing. So many ppl post once, and we never hear from them again. I'm very glad you are keeping in touch.
I think it may be a blessing in disguise that your current physicians are no loner going to be involved in your care. New opinions may provide you with a solutions and/or treatments that were not forth coming with your current medical team.
There are still physicians out there that possess passion, fire and drive. I'm sorry you have not found one. I'm sure everyone on this site is fatigued with the praises I happily give my PCP. She is my "Dr. House" (minus the vicodin and horrid bedside manner) that so many of us search to find. She has restored my faith in physicians. One of her male colleagues, at the same clinic comes in a close second. So great physicians are out there. I hope your next one will be more helpful and provide you with solutions.
Please keep in touch. I'll look forward to your continued updates.
Peace, Tuck
I still haven't gotten far with my search for answers from local doctors. The eye doctor I was seeing says he don't know what else to try so I should not waste my time (rude!!). The neurologist I was seeing about my migraines sent me a letter stating that for personal reasons he is resigning to move out of state. My regular doctor says I need to see a specialist not him. Why do they all leave me hanging instead of trying to help? Why is it that now a days choosing a career is based on pay when before it was based on passion. Before, doctors wanted to help people get better, police wanted to keep things orderly and safe, etc. I don't understand it. I'm going to try going out of town in search of a doctor who will help me. If I find anything out I will let everyone know. Thank you for the advice you all have given.
I don't have experience with migrains thank God....however a good friend of mind does, he has tried everything over the passed 20 years...from chrio, massage, meds...MRI's, acupunture many doctors etc....2 years ago he went to a neurologist one of many he's seen over the years however this one has studied many new answers to various stubborn neurological problems.
Anyway he administered BOTOX in a series of injections to the base of this fellows skull...it did not cure him but it did give relief...worth a referal to see what else is out there. good luck
Hi Bennett,
Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am very sorry to hear about your migraines. I've only had a few and they were horrid. I don't know what may be causing yours.
What I do know is that sinus problems can cause migraine like pain. The fact that you have a cyst in your sinus makes the cysts in your eye lid less surprising. Most cysts do not cause pain unless they are in an area that would produce nerve impingement or unlikely areas that would produce pain. I have multiple cysts including in left sinus, my kidney, liver, and multiple ones on the nerve roots of spinal canal. Only the ones on the nerve roots cause pain.
Have you sought a second or even a third opinion? If not I would certainly do so. I know of no reason, other than they may return, that they could not remove the cysts on your eyelid. It would be worth a try.
We do have a Migraine/Headache Forum too. You are welcome to visit there as well as here. All you need to do is go to the top of the page and click on forums. They are listed in alphabetical order.
Please let us know how you are doing. I will be interested to learn of your progress. Our members are here to support you. Please keep us updated.
Best of luck and take care, Tuck
Pain is a seriously undertreated condition in this country, and with the worthless War on Drugs, and people abusing these opioid medications that can help, it becomes even harder.
Medical science keeps advancing, yet...they still can't figure out most things.
