Tips on getting Lidocaine patches to stick?

I tried some samples of these a couple of months ago and they helped...when I could get them to stay on! I never bought them because they were really expensive. Now with my move I am desperate for any relief I can get my hands on so I am breaking down and going to go get my rx filled this morning.

I use them on my shoulder and my lower back. The shoulder one stays in place pretty well but the lower back ones pop off the second I bend over to do something - which I will be doing a lot of today and tomorrow. Any tips?

On a side note...after moving all day yesterday, I was DYING in pain and had already taken my quota of pain meds for the day. I am REALLY trying hard to resists taking any additional meds so I don't run out early later this month and so far I haven't (yay me!) So instead I tried calling mom to see if I could use her hot-tub. She didn't answer. i have a key. Yup. I went over there anyways and spent a glorious hour all by my lonesome...without permission...heehee...and blasted those aches and pains with some hot jets. It was heaven. :) I need one of those. Stat.

Thanks Gettingolder! I will try that. They serioulsy peeled off the SECOND I put them on. Very frusterating. I had some plastic medical tape in my cabinet so I have that platered all over them. It's working on the outside, but they are still not sticking on the inside. :(

I am glad someone answered this, My father is having the same problem. He has tried sticking bandaids over the patch and it is still coming loose. He is also complaining of itchiness, has anyone experienced this?

Transport tape made by 3M should help them stay on. I have a couple of rolls that I used to use when I was going through chemo to keep the lidocaine in place before the injections. It's great stuff!
