Need advice

I was perscribed (4) 15 mg oxycodones a day....I had 120 for 1 month.....My days have been starting at 4:oo am and going to 10:00 pm.....And so i did more then 4 a day....

How bad would it be to go to Pain Management doctor and tell him that i did more because of the longer days ?

Should i ask for new script early ?

He did say to be completly honest with him...

You are so right. I did not think in those terms. Coolio: You really need a change in your meds. Like mcclos said, tolorance is an issue with chronic pain sufferers.

I assume he has you taking them about every 6 hours?  If that is the case and you start at 4am, 10am, 4pm, and 10pm 4 a day has you covered even working those long hours.  If you are needing them more frequently than every 6 hours the doctor may need to A) change to every 4 hours or B) increase the strength of your dose so that you are not having break thru pain before your next dose is due.  Either way at the end of the day you need to be honest with your doctor because this problem of running out early is not likely to go away.  Our bodies become tolerant to opiate pain meds and after a period of time we need to increase our dose to achieve them same level of relief.  You don't have anything to fear in my opinion as long as you are taking them the right way for the right reasons and being open with yourself and your doctor.

I would do as the Dr ask you and be completly honest with him and tell him your having difficulties trying to make your meds lat the whole month and ask if he has any other options for you. As Mollyrae says Dr's do not like you to go against their instructions and increase dosage without their consen. I would call the office and tell them your days are longer and ask can you take an extra pill so the Dr knows your being honest and willing to go by his directions.
In my opinion if the Dr knows he can trust you he will do whatever he can to help you so be honest but do what he says and make sure he knows you are doing what he ask.

Hi Coolio: Well, if you take into account some of the other stories here, you might find yourself without a PM dr. If I were you, I would bite the dust until you see him next time and tell him/her that you have longer days than normal and need an increase by 1 or 2 a day. Do not take the chance and tell your Dr. that you are not following the prescribed directions. Some Dr. don't take kindley to that. This is my opinion. Take care, Mollyrae
