"Pain killers don't always work for the pain."
Amen to that Sister!! My body is screaming this morning! And my pain meds aren't doing a lot of good.
Pain killers don't always work for the pain. There are a lot of people who are in severe pain and do take pain medications. It's up to the doctor to prescribe what is needed, not the patient. Trying to manage the pain is very difficult and for some people it is impossible.
Well, there are all types of pan and all type of pain killers and procedures to to reduce pain. A pain specialist is the gate keeper. She makes sure that you are not over medicated or under medicated. She decides which procedures would be of benefit and which would not. She decides which drugs and how much. And someone must prescribe them. I hope you're not considering using street drugs! Very illegal and very dangerous.
As surely you must know that in the US, narcotic pain killers are closely regulated. Most doctors, other than Pain Management Physicians are loathe to prescribe them for more than a short while. Or else the DEA might pull their license.
