painful arm

i have an extremely painful pain shooting from shoulder to wrist, my arm is lifeless and weak. what can be causing this?

You could have a pinched nerve. I would go see a doctor.

My husband is suffering from what sounds to be similar to your situation. He is currently getting an M.R.I. as I type. They believe it is a compressed disk in his neck. It gas taken 4 months to get this far and he is in severe pain but they won't prescribe him pain meds b/c he is a 6 year sober rwcovering alcoholic. He has never had a pill problem and has been on them before here and there and has never had a problem.
I would ask your doctor to refer you to a Neurologist or an M.R.I.of tour neck and upper spine.I wish you luck and don't forget to be your iwn advocate. This is your body and don't take no for an answer. Find another doctor if you need to. I will let tou know what they say about my husband after his M.R.I.
