Left Side lower back pain

hello!

I am 25 yrs old male. I am experiencing pain in my left lower back near pelvis for a year now. The pain runs down in my leg. Its is usually very bad in the mornings, evenings and in cold climate. My left lower back gets numb and I feel needles. Can't walk properly, I limp. Have trouble getting out of  the car, toilet seat and other bending activities.

I am on and off smoker. I have been smoking for 5 years but take break from smoking for 5 months to 8 months. I am going to quit smoking for good this week.

I have got my x-rays and MRO done and its normal.

The pain started a year ago one morning when I got up in the morning, my left side lower back was very numb and it was cold climate. It got better in the afternoon as sun came up and the day turned warm. Thereafter I experience the pain everyday and it makes me very uncomfortable. I can't bend, it pains terribly on left lower back and leg locks. I put most of my body weight on right side when I walk, sleep or do other activities that involves using my left side.

Any comments, opinions and advises would be of great help.

Thanks.V

sounds like a possible pinched nerve.

Welcome to MedHelp. I'm sorry that you're having so much pain! Can you see a specialist? It sounds like your pain is really effecting your life. Ice and heat both help me, but you should of course ask your doctor before you try anything. They make "moist" heating pads. One great brand is Theratherm. It helps a lot.

Hugs,
