severe cronic pelvic pain

I have had severe pelvic pain for 3 1/2 yrs now. Every since I had an emergency c- section with my daughter. I am 24 yrs old and feel 80. My symptons are shooting pain in my pelvic are that goes down my legs, severe pain with intercourse, when its cold out side, during my menstrual, when I try to sleep, when active such as working etc, stressed, during a bowel movement, pain when I urinate (before and after), pain worsens at night. I have had so many MRI's, ultra sounds, x-rays, pap test.3 1/2 half yrs later they found my uterus is enlarged, I have a complex cyst with internal echoes with in the left ovary, small follicles in the right ovary, trace amount of fluids in my cul-de-sac, thick endometrial stripe. What s this and whats it caused from. (Bad labor) or is even my pain? I have heard I could have Fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, Endometriosis etc. I can never get a real answer and it seems like I just keep getting passed from one doc to another. I have been taking up to 12 tylonel a day for 3 1/2 yrs and I am so tired depressed, weak and stress over this. I have a beautiful little girl that needs me and I am lost I really have no more places to go! Can someone help me?...... If I do not die from whats wrong with me I will with liver failure, kidney failure. I am so lost.....

Hello and welcome to MH.

It makes life hard to have never ending pain such as yours. This sounds very much like Endometriosis. I had very simular pain to yours especially around my menstral cycle. After many tests an even a second ultrasound ( the first was inconclusive) I was finally diagnosed with small multiple uterine cysts. Well, to my amazement, during surgery, it was discovered that I had an extreme case of Endometriosis. Not until the Surgeons opened me up did they find it. The Surgeon was baffled and then proceeded to question the radiologist who made the original diagnosis.

The moral to the story is that you must keep on the medical profession..When they do not find anything then move on to the next Doctor and keep this up until your satisfied. It is your life and you have to take charge.
Please take care and good luck in the future,
Mollyrae

Hello Milf,

First let me welcome you to MedHelp. I am very glad you found us. But I am so very sorry you are experiencing so much pain.

At this point before you do anything you need to obtain some pain relief. Please discuss this with your PCP. Begin and open and honest discussion  and advise him/her regarding the pain you are experiencing. There is no need to have chronic pain that is not treated. If he/she is unwilling or unable to order narcotic pain medications for you than ask for a referral to a PMP. That should be your first step.

Secondly I suggest you obtain a second (or 13th) opinion with a physician that has not seen you before. I know that you believe you have seen everyone but I would even drive 90 miles to a well respected physician or PM Clinic. Explain your pain and frustrations and be assertive and demand answers. A PM Clinic may also provide you with a diagnosis. As you say you have a beautiful daughter that will need you for years to come. So please do this for her as well as yourself.

I have (or have had) many of the pelvic problems you are having and I can relate. Others will post with suggestions and additional information. Please take care of yourself and keep in touch. I will be watching for your next post. You may also PM me if you just need to chat. We all know what CP is like and how it can tear our world apart. I'm hoping this will all be resolved soon. Best of Luck, Tuck
