tylenol#3 = constipation, but not percocet. why?

i was wondering why tylenol 3 would make me constipated? because percocet doesn't. would it be the codeine causing the constipation? is this a 'normal' question? and is it 'normal' to be constipated from one but not the other? thanks for all your help.

Hi Larkin,

Mollyrae is correct. We all metabolize differently. Our systems can even change from time to time.

"Normal?" It may be normal for you. What's normal for you may not be normal for me or Sally or Pete. We are all different.

It appears fro what ever reason codeine constipates you. It does not have the affect on me. If that is the only side effect you have from it I would just treat the constipation.

Your pharmacist will be able to best direct you.

Take Care,
Tuck

Sounds like it may be the Codeine. Everyone metabolizes differently. I cannot use codeine either because of the swelling it produces. Good question to ask a Pharmacist.

Be well,
Mollyrae
