and in case alot of you dont know the biggest reason that the formulation has changed is to further their patent on this medication.do any of you really think that they would go through so much trouble to save the public from addiction and ODing.......wake up.......they could give 2 sh*ts about you but to protect that patent ...now thats a good reason to change as their previous patent was about to expire(i think).......dont think that purdue cares more about saving us than the almighty dollar especially in this day and age..........and abusers will just go to a herion dealer and get a cheaper fix for their sick addiction........so the new formulation equals more cash for purdue......a spike in herion use and more dead people.people that abuse oxy feel it is not like being a dirty scumbag herion addict so they use the clean all american prescription......they will still get what they nedd....they just got to be dirty herion scumbags as well......no more happy times doing a drug that is legally prescibed but with close similarities......good day all.......i think im actually just getting used to the way the new formulation hits me and the pain and have just tweaked the time frames i dose and im back on track.......i love the new ones but will probably adnit they lack the % of oxy the others had.....they do legally have a 20% leeway with this amount......think about that.....how much is really in the mg you are taking........a 60mg prolly has about 55.....those drug co. are powerful and we suffer in the end.god bless you all and pray to god to help get you through your day and not so much of "mothers little helper".....the stones nailed that one long ago!!!!!
peace out
do you understand one has asprin and one doesnt and one is an ir and percocet is not.with a percocet 10/325.....do you know what the 325 means?????.....and does roxi contain any of that?maybe im wrong. yes?
Unforturnately there have been a lot of people talking about the formula change in the oxycontin, but obvious for abuse reasons they felt the need to change the medication. You mentioned that you did a lot of research on the medication, are you having the symptoms too, or have you just read all the different, possible reactions and incorporated it into your own?
You stated that you are taking more of your break through med than is prescribed? I don't know if you are on any type of pain contract but that is something that is not allowed, for you to decide what your dose should be. I think that you should make a call to your pain doctor immediately about what's happening with your pain and be upfront and honest with him/her to see what they can offer. I'm sorry the new oxycontin is not working for you either, it's sad because it seems a lot of people do not feel they are adequately being treated with that medication.
Good luck with your doses and please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

you do understand percocet and roxicodone are all oxycodone, yes?

I think it would be good to start by telling your doctor how you have been feeling recently. All of the symtoms and side effects you've been experiencing, etc. Then you might explain that you have done a lot of reading about your condition and meds as you feel it's important to be aware of what you are putting in your body. Then explain what you feel might work and let her make the decision.
I know a lot of us here have done a lot of research on our own conditions and meds and tend to be more proactive in our own healthcare. These days patients have to advocate for themselves to ensure the best care. Hopefully she will appreciate your desire to take an active role in your own healthcare and will have a good and open discussion with you about it.
