I know that I have this pain for 27 years. I had all the tests, MRIs and found out I had a misaligned kneecap with edema around it. The ortho wanted to do surgery, but I just had emergency surgery for an infected gall bladder. None of the shots, narcotics, helped the pain except for Xanax.
I have been taking this for over 20 years, I take it responsibly given to me by my psychiatrist. The only change they made- decreased it from 3x a day to 2x a day. I’m on . 5. I take it as needed and many times I break it in half. All I know, my chronic pain subsides.

Back in the day, my grandma too 'darvon' for eons and would never describe it as a problem.  You sound like you have never increased the amount you take so sounds like responsible use to me.  Ugh, gall bladder surgery.  How did you know you needed that?
