2 year old vomiting at night

My daughter is two years old and this past Sunday she woke up vomiting. At the time we thought that most likely she had gotten into some bad food because her Father had picked her up a chicken tenders kids meal late that night when the place was about to close. Well she fell back to sleep that morning and when she woke back up she was fine. She was playing and running and laughing all day. She even rode a carousel! Well that night (Sunday)while she was sleeping she threw up again. She also threw up when she woke up that morning. When I say she's throwing up I'm not just talking about a small amount like spit up she is throwing up a lot. Well after she threw up that first time monday morning she was fine again all day and just as happy as could be. Again on monday night and Tuesday morning she threw up again.
I have been nursing my daughter every since she was born and I'm wondering if there is any way possible that somehow my milk is making her sick. She nurses a little during the day still but mostly at night because she sleeps in the same bed with me. She uses it to go back to sleep when she wakes up and to fall asleep in the first place. I don't think that it is the chicken anymore because it seems like that would keep her sick all day and not just at night. Thanks for any help you can give.

This is only for people who's kids have been throwing up for months and seem to be fine during the day. I saw an episode of a show on tv about rare disorders that are hard to diagnose, and a child who had been throwing up at night for several years was finally found to be having seizures. The child on the show was not a baby, but maybe between 4 and 8. Please remember this was a rare situation and the throwing up had gone on for a very long period of time (like 2 years I believe) before they got a diagnosis. But the child was only diagnosed after her sleep was observed by a neurologist. I would not suggest everyone with a vomiting baby go to a neurologist. I just thought it might be something for those who have pursued every possible angle and the problem has continued for many months. For those who's children have thrown up more than a few days, if that were my child, I would see a doctor.

I need help! My son (19 months old) has been going through this same thing for 7 days. He goes to sleep and every night he throws up and then the next day he's fine. Though the day he has really watery diarreah. There is no fever what so ever. I took him to the ped and they said it was a "stomach flu" but I've never seen a stomach flu like this. I just would like some opinions. Thank you!

My 18 month old son just vomited 4 times so I looked up "vomiting" on the net. My god, so many parents with kids vomiting at night! My son has had reflux and ezcema in the past. I took him to the doctor and the doc didnt know for sure what it was and she told me to give him some meds. I didn't do it because i thought it's not the best thing to do when you dont know exactly the reason your child has .. anything really: fever, colds, vomiting, ezcema.... And I think it's just too easy for doctors to give antibiotics when they're not sure what it is. It's a bit like shooting with your eyes blindfolded (and hope you hit the mark). Antibiotics are not the cure for everything. The good thing is that there are other ways to get healthy, (avoiding strong drugs and their unwanted side effects that are only going to treat the symptoms but not the cause of the problem). And there are other type of doctors that are experts in a different kind of medicine (Ayurveda-from India, Chinese medicine, etc). Please dont misinterpret my words, I'm not talking about "alternative" medicine (that doesnt mean anything, there is a lot of unqualified practitioners out there with only good intentions or worse). I have tried an Ayurvedic Doctor (Qualified doctor) and he has been more helpful in his advice than many western doctors I've seen in the past. My type 1 diabetes is much better than it has ever been and my husband's Chronic Fatigue Syndrome has gone. Also, my son's ezcema was gone with oil massage. We still have to watch what he eats(we give him foods that are easy to digest). Maybe this gives another perspective on how to get over difficult conditions or unknown symptoms.
It's just too easy to give a prescription after a short session with the doctor. It takes understanding and time to find the reasons why the body gets out of balance.

Wanted to touch base.  It has now been a couple of weeks and I hope we have solved our problem.  After going to her pediatrician and them doing nothing, I went for a second opinion and finally got someone that would do some tests.  Her white blood cell count come back high and urine come back positive for uti.  Got put on another antibiotic and reflux med.  He said her esophagus could have gotten irritated after the first infection.  After several days with no changes, she finally stopped throwing up and her poop went back to normal.  I am so glad this was only a bacterial infection.  Hard to believe we went through all of that before someone drew some blood.  So far so good with us.  Good luck to all of you going through similar problems.
