2 year old vomiting at night

My daughter is two years old and this past Sunday she woke up vomiting. At the time we thought that most likely she had gotten into some bad food because her Father had picked her up a chicken tenders kids meal late that night when the place was about to close. Well she fell back to sleep that morning and when she woke back up she was fine. She was playing and running and laughing all day. She even rode a carousel! Well that night (Sunday)while she was sleeping she threw up again. She also threw up when she woke up that morning. When I say she's throwing up I'm not just talking about a small amount like spit up she is throwing up a lot. Well after she threw up that first time monday morning she was fine again all day and just as happy as could be. Again on monday night and Tuesday morning she threw up again.
I have been nursing my daughter every since she was born and I'm wondering if there is any way possible that somehow my milk is making her sick. She nurses a little during the day still but mostly at night because she sleeps in the same bed with me. She uses it to go back to sleep when she wakes up and to fall asleep in the first place. I don't think that it is the chicken anymore because it seems like that would keep her sick all day and not just at night. Thanks for any help you can give.

I am having the same problems as many of you.  Our daughter is 2 and a half.  She has been running a fever and vomiting at random every few days for a couple hours.  She seems extremely sick (vomiting, lethargic, eyes rolling back in her head, crying, saying her head hurts, etc) for a few hours and then she is fine for a few days.  Ours is happening day and night.  I took her to the doctor, she tested positive for strep, took all of her antibiotics, and the cycle has continued.  I don't know what to do.  By the time I get her in to see a doctor, she is completely normal again.  I'm worried that something in our house that we are not aware of (mold, or no telling what) that may be making her sick.  But now that I am reading this thread I am even more baffled.  I will take her to the doctor again tomorrow, and tell him about her as well as this thread.  We have a really great pediatrician! When our daughter began INSTANTLY running 105-107 degree fever and dropping to the ground when it happened and then 10 minutes later she was fine again, our pediatrician ran every test he could run and more trying to figure out what was going on.  We got it figured out after 100's of tests, and she is perfectly healthy today.  (Her bladder was backflushing urine into her kidneys and causing her to run a high fever which was causing fibrile seizures (fever seizures)  But anyway, if there is something going on with our kiddos our doc will figure it out.  I will be back soon to post whatever advice he sends me home with.

I am having a similar problem with my daughter who is almost 3.  She had a sinus infection with fever a week or two prior.  She has now been vomiting for a week, generally early morning or after nap.  The past fee nights be have been up at 3am going through it.  Sometimes it will wait until she wakes up.  After she vomits, she is fine.  The only other symptom she has is diarrhea.  I am so worried.  Started in Singulair and Claritin with no changes.  I first thought it could be post nasal drip or reflux, but when she vomits at night, I don't hear her cough, she wakes up and grabs her bucket that we now keep by the bed!  Also started her on reflux med and no change as of yet.  Starting with allergist tomorrow.  I am going to make them allergy test her to definitely rule out anything environmental.  I am going to see how long it will take me to get an appt with a gasto as well, due to reading several posts and feeling like her symptoms match.  I notice her food does seem to look undigested no matter what time she vomits.

I have saved this thread so I can come back later and post our progress.  I am not going to play around and wait.  I would now prefer going to a gastro first, but I already have the allergist appt.'so I am keeping it.  Wish us luck.

My son has been waking up every night same time for the past 3 days throwing up one time around 2-3am and going back to bed. Diarrhea once in the morning. During the day he is happy as a clam with no symptoms. His puke looked like chunks of white stuff with a redish tint to it. I put him in my bed and he sleeps happily the rest of the night.

I recently bought some redvines for the first time a few days ago and I read something about reddye#40. I think my son has a sensitivity to it. It can cause Seizures.

My son is 2 1/2 years old.

I am going to try cutting out dyes in his food and see if it clears up. My ped told me to give him foods like crackers rice bananas etc. The only crackers I had were Triskits and I realized they have dyes in them. I will be paying way more attention to what he eats from now on.

It hurts to see this happen because I hear him yell from his room MAMA MAMA help! He cries and I go in his room to rescue him out of the puke and clean him up. Last night it was all over his arms, face, pillow, wall, blankies, and sheets. I just want my baby to be well again.

Hi All, Just some food for thought, our son is having the same problem, he has just had his third birthday about 2 weeks ago, but i think my partner may have hit the nail on the head, ( STRESS!) yes, kiddies get it to, and at that age, between 2 & 3 when they are starting to act up more than usual, they tend to also get in trouble more than usual as well, im not saying that this is you or your child, but i have some egsamples of the things that have been going on in my sons life, along with with some more obviouse things that could make a kiddy sick. OK, we are in the middle of a huge home move right now, from NSW to QLD, leaving our home, freinds AND family, we have also had to sell EVERYTHING!, including alot of out sons toys because we are only taking what we could fit in the car. Now we are off to a new home with all strange furniture and no friends or family, this MUST be all incredibly hard for a three year old to grasp, et alone come to terms with, we are still only half way there, so he is still having to sleep in strange beds with no home of his own. On top of all of this, because of the moving, there has been no normality on the dinner table, all take outs, which my son doesnt realy like, he loves his vegies and healthy foods, i also gave him a conbantrum about a week ago, as he was starting to get itchy and i thought it was because he was playing in public areas and with alot more kiddies on the way. Now we are staying at a friends place for a couple of weeks and he is renovating his house, so paint smells, lime smells from fresh concrete fumes from expanda foam, so you see, i can totaly understand that this all all to much for any kiddy to cope with, and if its not fumes or food, then it could be stress, in my sons case, its every thing, and that saddens me very much, i hope he settles down once WE do, and i hope that this letter has given some of you food for thought, and good luck with those preciouse onse

This is any update on my daughters condition. The doctor office wouldn't help me either. They just kept saying that I didn't know what I was talking about and my kids got over the cold they had when I last brought them in and caught another one. No matter what I told them, it was just them telling me that I didn't know what I was talking about. I cleaned my daughters room really good and found that if I gave her some allergy medicine right before bed she didn't get sick anymore. She still coughs some at night but isn't vomiting anymore. She's been ok for a week now and i'm hoping it stay's like that. I'm guessing it was a nasal drip from when she was sleeping it was dripping down her throat then setteling in her tummy, then when she would cough she would throw all of it up. I'm using the Triaminic Allergy Strips, due to her refusing to drink any of the "yucky" liquid medicine. They are working great. If that doesn't work, then try giving Benadryl and if your still having problems, then i would look into something else. I hope this helps. Its so scary when you witness this over and over and the doctors still won't help.
