I know this post is old but thought I’d try anyway. Did your son grow to his potential height? Our son is in a similar situation. He is now 13.5 years. Getting facial hair, hairy legs, deep voice. He’s 5’2”. Really hoping he grows more!
We also are in a similar situation. my son went for a bone age scan at age 6yr 10 months...the results were his bone age was that of a 10-11 year old. He has pimples blackheads in his ears etc. he is 53inches and 76lbs. a few course hairs in the genital area and has worn deodorant (natural) since age 3.
His pediatric endocrinologist at Shands only ordered 3 tests. DHEA-S, Testerone and 17-OH Progesterone LCMS all came back normal except
DHEA-S which was high at 276!....he wanted the blood work repeated 3 months later..(now) just got the test results back his testerone and progesterone nearly doubled in 3 months and the DHEA-S went up to 285.2...left a message to speak to his Endo he called back and I missed the call! but he did leave a message wanting to "discuss" things with me on monday..so i am concerned...my thoughts on this is will the "normal" tests keep doubling? My sons dad is 6'2" I am 5'5" ...of course we all want our child to grow to their potential but I am concerned about the emotional aspect of this my son is very sensitive and I am truly worried if he starts maturing like a 13 year old when he becomes 8 what happens then... also i want to request an MRI to make sure that he does not have a tumor that is causing this...
I so hope that your son's most recent labs turn out fine and give you more insight. Our pediatric endocrinologist was supposed to call us with test results at the end of last week. After not hearing from him by the middle of this week, I called, only to find out that the doctor is out this whole week. So, I asked for the on call doctor to at least call with the test results. Our son's bone age came back at 14! So worried now about making the right decisions from here on out.

what community is that in? I'd like to read the messages.
We are dealing with a similar situation. our 8 1/2 yr old showed pubic hair on his 7th birhtday and has had acne since he was 5-6. We thought it was no big deal, b/c I had early acne and husband is Italian (hairy). We saw a Ped. Enc. 9/13 and all labs came back normal but his bone age was advanced 2 years so dr called it premature adrenarch. We have continued to see this doctor every 4-6 mos. At our last checkup this past week the doctor now seemed "alarmed" by my son's acne although it has been there all along, and by what he calls a bit of "robust" growth in height. I'm a worrier so I'm anxiously awaiting the results of the new labs. If they are normal, then he likely has the benign premature adrenarch, but if they are not normal then we investigate further and like you, I'm wondering if they will do a brain scan. This is nerve wracking and I would love to hear that this is not all that atypical and to relax. Btw, the labs we are using measure LH, FSH, and DHEA-S, Growth Hormone and Testosterone. So far all have been within range except his DHEA-S is slightly higher than what is normal.
PS there are many posts about precocious puberty on Med Help check them out its good to get others views going through same
Precocious puberty they call it, sounds like the pediatrician doesnt feel any meds are needed .Some people do not like the treatment ,you would be best doing some research and getting more info from the Pediatrician .
