Hi. I have a son who turned 8 months old few days back. He has two problems which concern me a lot. One is that he doesn't roll from his back to tummy. He rolls to his sides but that's all he knows how to do. Another problem is that whenever we say something to him, he just doesn't turn and look at us. It's like he just ignores our voices. I am not considering hearing problems because his hearing capacity seems to be fine. We have already consulted 3 doctors and whenever they check him they just say he has development delays. That's all they say. I haven't gotten any answers yet and I am not sure what it could be. One of the doctors performed a basic hearing test and said his hearing is fine. And I am sure it is because he does turn to the sound of rattle, toys, ringtones etc. It's just human voices he ignores. My wife isn't really concerned because she thinks he intentionally chooses not to turn and look. I don't know if 8 month old babies can 'ignore'? Another thing that worries me is that he shakes his head a lot specially when he is excited. Please advice.
PS: Also, it took 6 months for him to develop strength in his neck and at that age he developed leg control. Before that age whenever we used to lift him, his legs would be hanging. Now they are fine. He does a mighty good job running in his walker! :)
